Pet Care

ScriptWorks understands that your family consists of loved ones of all shapes and sizes. We want to make sure that your pets get the attention they deserve as well. Did you know that ScriptWorks can compound medication for animals of any proportion from hampsters to horses? Ask your vet for more information.

At ScriptWorks, we take the medicine needed by your pet and compound it into a form that makes it easy to administer. From pill to liquid; medicine taste to fish taste... we can compound your animal's medicine to make them better and your life easier.

Pets of All Sizes

Commercial animal drugs are commonly available in one size or strength. ScriptWorks' pharmacists can adjust the dose to make it the perfect strength for your animal. For example, if a drug is only available in 50 mg doses, we can compound a 6.5 mg treat for your 4 pound Chihuahua, and why not make it nacho cheese flavor? We make medicine easier to administer and often more economical.

Commercially Unavailable

Drug manufacturers often stop producing medicines and dosage forms which are no longer profitable. ScriptWorks realizes that some medicines are still needed in special cases. If you have a hard time finding the prescribed medication, let us know, as we often carry pharmaceutical grade chemicals that are difficult to get anywhere else.

Transdermal Dosage Forms

ScriptWorks commonly compounds medications in alternative dosage forms for specific animals with specific problems. One example are our transdermal dosage forms. Our topical gels can be applied to your animal's ear for penetration right into the blood stream. This alleviates upset stomach, vomiting and the stress suffered by the pet's owner.

Look Familiar?

As any pet owner is well aware, animals can be extremely difficult to treat with medications. Cats are notorious for refusing to swallow pills, and usually will eat right around one disguised in food. ScriptWorks routinely uses over 100 flavors to make the medicine that your cat once spit back at you, actually leave him begging for more.

  • Triple Fish (Tuna, Salmon, and Sardine) for Cats
  • Beef, Chicken, or Liver for Dogs
  • Banana Cream, Tuiti Fruiti, or Pina Colada for Birds
  • Apple, Molasses or Licorice for Horses
  • The combinations are endless!

Drug Combination

Your pet may need numerous medications for a serious health problem and you just don't have time in your busy lifestyle to administer multiple drugs to your animal. Our specially trained pharmacists check for incompatibilities to see if we can combine different medications into one dosage form. By compounding several drugs into one dosage form we can save you money and heartache; and most importantly, help your pet feel better as soon as possible.

Our Role: Compounding

The practice of pharmacy compounding is becoming a popular solution to veterinary problems. Compounding is the art and science of preparing customized medications for patients. Its resurgence in recent years extends valuable benefits to today’s pet owners. Animals often have variations of the same diseases humans can have, including skin rashes, eye and ear infections, heart conditions, cancer, and diabetes. Medicating pets presents unique problems that often are best dealt with through compounding.
