Personalized Medicine

Medications made just for you.

Pharmaceutical companies tend to take a one-size-fits-all approach to medications. However, that approach doesn't always work when it comes to your body's needs. What if you are allergic to certain medications? What if you need a different dosage? What if you can't swallow pills? What if you need a medication that is no longer commercially manufactured? Or what if you need a medicine that your child can tolerate the taste of?

These are the problems that ScriptWorks solves on a daily basis. We make custom medications for you and your entire family. Our custom compounding services are valued by our patients and it shows!

The Triad Relationship
We work with your doctor to find solutions to fit your unique needs. This is achieved through an essential triad relationship—patient, physician and pharmacist. The physician first prescribes the medication, then, using the necessary ingredients, the pharmacist compounds and dispenses the medicine to the patient after a thorough consultation. This enables patients to receive the type of personalized care they deserve and allows ScriptWorks to provide superior, patient-oriented services.

Custom Compounding

What is Compounding?

Compounding is simply the preparation, mixing, assembling, packaging and labeling of a drug or device as the result of a doctor - patient - pharmacist relationship.

Custom Compounding Services

Preparation of specialized products that require chemicals and equipment are not available in most pharmacies. Our pharmacists have extensive additional training in compounding techniques to ensure safety and potency. Our support network generates a constant exchange of ideas, innovations and techniques involving compounding and includes Ph.D. chemists and pharmacists who research the feasibility of new formulations.

Quality Assurance

ScriptWorks' Compounding Lab uses the purest chemicals available and does not compromise on quality. Our products and proceedures are frequently tested and we are an active member of the Continuous Quality Improvements program.

Reasons for Compounding

There are many reasons why pharmacists compound prescription medications but the most important one is patient non-compliance. Many patients are allergic to preservatives or dyes, or are sensitive to standard drug strengths. With a physician's prescription, ScriptWorks can change the strength of a medication, alter its form to make it easier for the patient to ingest, or add flavor to it to make it more palatable.

Other Reasons Include:

  • compoundsProducts that are no longer commercially available
  • Products that are not economically feasible to manufacture
  • Products with a unique delivery system; such as a sublingual tablet or lozenge, a lollipop, or a topical gel.
